Dr. Erin Martin

Dr. Erin Martin is a board certified physician specializing in Integrative Medicine. She completed a two year academic fellowship in Integrative Medicine through the world-renowned Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona under the guidance of such pioneers in the field as Andrew Weil, MD and Tieraona Low Dog, MD. Dr. Martin’s knowledge in the art of Integrative Medicine, as well as her conventional medical training, allow her to work alongside her patients to create a unique treatment plan that promotes true health and vitality based on a person’s own innate ability to heal. Combining evidence-based therapies from multiple disciplines, including conventional Western medicine, Eastern medicine practices, manual therapies, mind-body and natural therapies, she strives to truly creates the optimum healing environment for mind, body and spirit.
Dr. Martin attended medical school at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she also received a Masters degree in Public Health. She completed a residency in Family and Preventive Medicine at the University of Utah before returning to her native Oregon where she practiced in a variety of settings including a community health center, private practice, urgent care, and emergency medicine. She began to realize that the medical system was not set up to help people stay healthy, but rather fostered chronic illness. Inspired by Dr. Andrew Weil that there is a better way of healing that is right in front of us, she decided to pursue training in Integrative Medicine. Today she is happy to offer a different style of medicine to her patients that emphasizes prevention and lifestyle therapies over chronic disease management with pharmaceuticals. Because of the unique practice style at Pure Integrative Medicine, Dr. Martin is able to spend the time with each patient to get to the root of the problem. She helps her patients identify and remove the things in their lives that are pushing them toward disease, and teaches them how to replace them with things that promote wellness and vitality in all areas of their life. She sees her role as a guide and a partner with her patients, and provides a non-judgmental space where patients are free to explore and make the changes necessary to experience total well-being.
Her areas of practice include bio-identical hormone therapy, advanced cardio-metabolic testing and treatment, food allergy testing, functional gut analysis, nutritional counseling, and overseeing the integration of other complementary therapies with conventional treatments. As a physician she can integrate the care for a myriad of common illnesses and diseases, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, menopause, fatigue, overweight and obesity, intestinal problems, and stress-related issues such as anxiety and insomnia. She will also be working along side Dr. Patrick to provide comprehensive treatment for many musculoskeletal complaints. Her areas of practice include basic osteopathic manipulations, joint injections, trigger point injections and craniosacral treatments. As part of a larger community of physicians, she will be able to determine if a patient needs specialty referral and can easily facilitate further evaluation and treatment.
Dr. Martin is committed to providing a healing space where health-minded individuals can come to partner with her in achieving optimum health, vitality and wellbeing - Mind, Body, Spirit.
